TAB1099 can e-file the 1099 and 1098-T files your Oracle PeopleSoft system already creates, whether that’s the FIRE text file or the new IRIS XML file. We check the file, convert it if needed, and file it with the IRS under our own Transmitter Control Code (TCC).

You don’t need to upgrade PeopleTools, apply for your own IRIS TCC, or go through IRS testing before January.

This matters most in higher education and the public sector, where many universities, colleges and government agencies run accounts payable in PeopleSoft. If your campus also files 1098-Ts from PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, TAB1098-T can handle those too.

What IRIS means for PeopleSoft users

FIRE shuts down on Nov. 19, 2026. After that, 1099s and 1098-Ts must be e-filed through IRIS, which accepts neither FIRE text file nor your FIRE TCC.

PeopleSoft can now create files for IRIS. Starting with FSCM Update Image 56, it produces CSV and XML files for 1099-MISC, NEC, G and INT. 1098-Ts come from PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, and Oracle hasn’t published IRIS details for them. However, these still have to be e-filed with the IRS. The following are the options you currently have to do that:

Sending XML directly from PeopleSoft (A2A). Oracle says you’ll need:

  • PUM 56
  • A recent PeopleTools patch: 8.62.07, 8.61.18, or 8.60.23 with POC 38875082-01
  • A new IRIS TCC, which the IRS says can take up to 45 business days
  • An IRS API Client ID and a JSON Web Key set up in PeopleSoft
  • IRS assurance testing (ATS) before your first live file

Older PeopleTools releases can’t send XML to the IRS at all, and Oracle is telling institutions to plan ahead and find a qualified third party that’s certified to file through IRIS.

Uploading a CSV to the IRIS portal. No integration is needed, but the portal takes 100 returns at a time, each file holds up to 250 records, and corrections are entered one by one.

Sending the file to Tab Service. If PeopleSoft can produce the file but you’re not set up to send it, upload it to TAB1099 and we’ll file it.

How it works: send us your PeopleSoft file

You run PeopleSoft’s 1099 or 1098-T process the way you always have; we handle everything from the file onward.

  1. Run your 1099 or 1098-T process in PeopleSoft and create the IRS file (XML or Text).
  2. Upload the file to TAB1099 by direct upload, API or SFTP. We also accept CSV and Excel.
  3. We check every record against IRS rules and convert the file to IRIS XML if needed.
  4. If anything needs fixing, we flag it before the file reaches the IRS.
  5. We file with the IRS under our own TCC and track it until it’s accepted.

You can test and review your data before anything is transmitted, and you get confirmation and tracking from upload through IRS acceptance.

Choose the level of help you want:

  • Self-Service E-Filing: you review and approve your data; we convert, check and file it.
  • Full 1099 Service: a data analyst also reviews your data, and we print and mail recipient copies, deliver them electronically, and handle corrections.

TAB1099 covers the full range of 1099 forms, including Form 1098-T. Tab Service Company has been an IRS-authorized e-file provider since 2005 and has full A2A IRIS integration.

Your payees’ tax IDs stay protected. Tab Service Company is SOC 2 Type II audited every year by Plante Moran. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and client portals require multi-factor authentication.

Your three options, side by side

Sending your file to a provider is usually the fastest path for PeopleSoft shops that aren’t already patched and tested.

Sending us your PeopleSoft file to E-File through TAB1099 is a good fit if you:

  • Are on an older PeopleTools release
  • Can’t fit an upgrade in before January
  • File hundreds or thousands of 1099s or 1098-Ts
  • Can create IRIS XML but aren’t set up to send it
  • Don’t want to manage an IRIS A2A connection yourself

Frequently asked questions

Can PeopleSoft still create a FIRE file after FIRE retires? Yes. PeopleSoft still offers the FIRE text file as an output option, alongside CSV and XML. You can’t send it to the IRS yourself after Nov. 19, 2026, but you can send it to Tab Service.

Does PeopleSoft support IRIS? Yes, for 1099-MISC, NEC, G and INT in PeopleSoft Payables, if you’re on PUM 56 with a recent PeopleTools patch. Older releases can’t send XML to the IRS. Oracle hasn’t yet published IRIS details for 1098-Ts from Campus Solutions.

PeopleSoft creates our IRIS XML file, but we can’t send it. Can you file it? Yes. Upload the XML file and we’ll check it and file it with the IRS under our TCC.

Do I need my own IRIS TCC if I use TAB1099? No. We file under our own IRIS transmitter TCC.

Do I need to change how I run 1099s or 1098-Ts in PeopleSoft? No. Apply Oracle’s usual year-end tax updates, run the same process, and upload the file it produces.

What about corrections? Corrections are unlimited, with no per-correction fee.

What if some records have errors? We check every record against IRS rules before filing, so errors get fixed before the IRS sees them.

Get set up before filing season

The sooner you set up your account, the sooner we can run a test file from your PeopleSoft system and confirm everything maps cleanly before January.

Schedule a free transition consult or call (312) 527-4306. Tell us your approximate 1099 and 1098-T volume and which forms you file, and we’ll walk you through the upload.
